Kids smoking are more common than you think. It is not just the teens that need to be a concern anymore, but actual children smoking tobacco products. There is a picture circulating on the Internet that shows a little kid smoking. He cannot be much older than three, but already he is holding the cigarette perfectly in his little hand. Kids smoking pot were shown on national television not too long ago when a babysitting uncle showed his little nephews just how it was done. Yet while a picture of a kid smoking a cigarette or the depictions of little kids smoking weed may or may not underscore the real problem, the fact that many smoking children do so at home should.
Children smoking at home are usually able to sneak tobacco products from their parents. The house is in a constant blue haze and so a bit more smell of smoke really does not factor in. Smoking kids can hide their habit easily as long as they make sure to not steal too many smokes from mom’s or dad’s stash. Yet children smoking cigarettes in this home atmosphere face a lot of challenges. First and foremost is of course the addiction that a child smoking cigarettes will soon experience. A smoking kid has other problems to contend with as well. As the body is slowly becoming poisoned, kids smoking cigarettes will notice that they are more susceptible to colds, coughs, and upper respiratory problems. Unfortunately, the kids smoking will not have this connected to their habit but to that of the parents who may be warned not to smoke inside the house. At this point in time, the personal habit of the kids’ smoking might continue to go on undetected until much later when a lot of damage is already done. To keep your children smoke free, you will have to quit yourself. There is no alternative to ensure that there will be no cigarettes in your home your little ones might end up using. Furthermore, kids smoking who are caught in the act need to be spoken to directly, clearly, yet also lovingly. Forbidding them to smoke is great, but if they are already hooked, they need help with the withdrawal. Educate yourself and be aware of the symptoms your child might experience and help them to understand what is happening. Of course, even if your kids are not lighting up, you do need to talk about the dangers of smoking, but while lung cancer may not mean much to a ten year old, the threat of ugly yellow teeth that smell real bad might. Girls especially will respond well when appeals are directed toward their vanity and they get to understand the ravages of smoking to their skin, hair, nails, and smell. Do not neglect to talk to your kids or you might find your kids’ smoking pics or maybe your children smoking pot depicted on the ‘Net next! |
