There used to be a time when you could see people smoking everywhere. The habit was socially accepted, and pictures of people smoking were routinely shown on television, in print ads, and simply in pictures that would have nothing to do with cigarettes, tobacco, or even the cigarette manufacturers. When it came to smoking, people simply took it for granted and nobody gave it much of a second thought. After all, the real problem were the people smoking weed, and pictures of people smoking pot were the ones that were judiciously displayed only in late night programming that spoke of the dangers that people who smoke marijuana faced.
Yet today the question about how many people smoke is becoming an issue that is quickly aimed at helping smokers to kick the habit. Interesting, people smoking is now the kind of display that is no longer shown, and as a matter of fact, young people smoking any kind of tobacco product is now the feature of the evening news programs. No matter what the current social mores dictates when it comes to the display of people who smoke, the fact is simply that taking a good look at people smoking can help you to quit. It can strengthen your resolve; it can help you to understand why people quit smoking and how you too can stub out the habit, and last but not least, photos and depictions of people smoking will help you to understand first hand the health risks associated with tobacco.
For example, people smoking outside of a building in the freezing snow are not the pictures of coolness and allure the cigarette companies are trying to present. Furthermore, pictures of people smoking cigarettes show that they are usually relegated to secluded areas, outside of bars and restaurants, and not at all enjoying the high life that is promised by the cigarette companies’ photo shoots of people smoking in public places. Close ups of pictures of young people smoking also showcase that even they are subject to the tell tale yellow stained fingers, and also the skin problems that are experienced by youthful smokers, including the slow healing sores around the mouth, the somewhat mottled skin tones, and the lackluster hair. Of course, it is easy to say that people should not smoke – it was said back in the 1970s to people smoking marijuana! Instead, a judicious display of smokers in the act of smoking will help to provide the warning examples needed to cause even the casual tobacco aficionado to suddenly notice the oddities of the habit that may have never entered her or his mind before.
